Shannon Angielski, the Associate Director of the Coal Utilization Research Council (CURC), was quoted in a Greenwire article, entitled, "Coal: Shifting Fortunes Force Industry to Delay Some Demonstration Projects."

Ms. Angielski comments on the trend of coal companies delaying some planned demonstration projects while awaiting new technology that would allow them to capture power plants' carbon dioxide emissions on a large-scale, saying "it may be that Congress would appropriate dollars in the $10 million to $20 million range, but large-scale demonstrations need several hundred million dollars, and that's not something that [the industry] anticipate seeing."
