Welcome to our 2022 Summer Associates

Van Ness Feldman is thrilled to welcome our 2022 Summer Associates.

"We are delighted to welcome Casey, Austin, Mekkah, Jordan, John, and Ian to the firm.” commented Co-Chair Doug Smith. "These students embody the talent, character, and enthusiasm for contributing to the future of legal developments within the industries we are privileged to serve,” added Co-Chair Nancy McNally.

Casey Cousineau

Casey is our Seattle 1L Diversity Fellow. She attends the University of Michigan Law School, was the Captain of the Dartmouth University's Women’s Soccer team, and has held several positions working to advance renewable energy and natural resource policies.


 

Austin Durglo

Austin returns to the DC office as a 2L Summer Associate from the University of Idaho College of Law where he is also pursuing a M.S. in Water Resources. Prior to law school, Austin worked as a helitack crewmember where he was a first responder to fire starts in Montana.


 

Mekkah Husamadeen

Mekkah is a firm alumnae who returns as a 1L Summer Fellow in the DC office through the fellowship program at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. She holds a B.A. from Howard University in Legal Communications and is very involved in a variety of community service projects.


 

Jordan Manley

Jordan is our DC 1L Diversity Summer Associate. He attends Seattle University School of Law and was a Global Politics Fellow at George Mason University. Jordan previously served as a legislative intern for U.S. Senator Chris Coons.





 

John Roy

John is a 1L Summer Fellow who is joining us through the fellowship program at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. John holds a B.A. in political science from Louisiana State University and previously interned for the Louisiana House of Representatives.



 

Ian Staeheli

Ian is 2L Summer Associate and attends the University of Washington School of Law where he is a member of the Washington Law Review. He received his B.S. from Gonzaga University and worked in several positions as a energy and policy analyst before attending law school.
