Our Native Affairs team was privileged to assist the Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation; a non-profit organization comprised of Oglala Sioux tribal members, created to address social, economic and cultural issues facing Native youth and the community.  The firm advised Thunder Valley on several major projects related to a large-scale regenerative and sustainable planned community currently being constructed in the heart of the Oglala Lakota Nation in South Dakota.  Our attorneys advised on real estate matters, such as the formation of a Home Owners Association, the drafting of standard purchase contracts, the drafting of covenants for deeds, and financing issues.  We also provided key counsel for the financing of the project from grants, state and federal programs, and individual investors.
