Seth advises public- and private-sector clients on complex land use, zoning, permitting, and real estate development matters. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience in private practice, as in-house counsel, and with municipal government, Seth helps clients develop permitting strategies, evaluate development risks, secure regulatory approvals, and navigate hearings and appeals for development and infrastructure projects.
Seth has extensive experience successfully guiding retail, industrial, office, energy, housing, data center, and other development projects through local, state, and federal permitting processes. He has secured the full range of land use and environmental permits, including rezonings, annexations, site plans, conditional use permits, design reviews, and Clean Water Act permits. He also regularly litigates land use matters in administrative proceedings and courts. Seth additionally works with government officials, community groups, consultants, and other stakeholders to address issues affecting project development and permitting.
Prior to joining Van Ness Feldman, Seth served as in-house counsel for a leading electric vehicle company, where he led zoning, permitting, and motor-vehicle dealer and repair licensing matters associated with the company’s national and international expansion. He previously spent nearly two decades in private practice with two different AmLaw 100 law firms advising clients on land use strategy, permitting, hearings, and appeals for contested energy and development projects.
