Meredith is a Partner in the Energy Regulatory Practice Group and serves as the leader of the firm’s Houston office. With decades of experience as a lawyer and corporate officer, Meredith brings clients a unique combination of in-house expertise and industry acumen to her practice, which focuses on providing strategic counsel to energy sector participants on FERC regulatory compliance, market rules, interconnection and transmissions processes, power project development & operations, NERC reliability standards, and complex commercial arrangements.
Prior to joining Van Ness Feldman, Meredith served as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary for EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA), where she directed legal strategy for one of the largest renewable energy companies in North America. Her leadership included overseeing legal and regulatory compliance for wind, solar, and battery storage projects throughout the United States, managing complex commercial agreements, and advising on federal and state requirements related to foreign ownership of energy assets. Meredith also led EDPR’s corporate governance functions, internal investigations, and dispute resolution strategies, while spearheading initiatives to streamline legal operations.
Earlier in her career, Meredith held roles as Director of Human Resources, Associate General Counsel, and Regulatory Counsel at EDPR NA, and worked as an associate at Van Ness Feldman, where she represented electric and gas clients in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) proceedings and advised on energy policy matters.
She is deeply committed to advancing clients’ interests in developing energy infrastructure and is actively involved in industry organizations, including the Energy Bar Association, where she serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors.
