Congratulations to Van Ness Feldman client, Deepwater Wind, for launching the nation’s first offshore wind farm. The five-turbine, 30-megawatt project, which is set to start operating this fall, will feed into New England’s electrical grid via underwater cables and provide enough energy to power about 17,000 homes.
The firm was honored to have provided strategic advice and consultation regarding interconnection and transmission arrangements, federal permitting issues related to FERC, NEPA, and NHPA and tribal matters, and litigation support for the project. Van Ness Feldman is also proud to have played a part in seeing the nation’s first offshore wind project come to fruition.
