Andrea Funez is an associate in the firm’s Energy Regulatory practice, where she represents clients on a broad range of federal regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Andrea returns to Van Ness Feldman after previously working at the firm as a summer associate, where she wrote memoranda and researched case law on energy and environmental issues. While in law school, Andrea served as a legal intern with the Committee on Education and the Workforce at the U.S. House of Representatives, where she drafted memoranda on education policy issues and assisted committee counsel with question and statement preparation for subcommittee hearings. Earlier in her career, she served as a judicial intern with the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings, where she assisted administrative law judges by drafting orders addressing case dismissals, motion denials, and admissions with explanations.
Andrea earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, where she served as Editor in Chief of the American University Business Law Review, a Teaching Fellow and Dean’s Fellow with the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, and a member of the Latin American Law Student Association.
