Amid ongoing congressional debate and renewed attention to federal environmental policy, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) remains a significant issue for counties with public and private lands. Efforts to modernize and reform the law, including proposals such as the ESA Amendments Act, aim to improve transparency, regulatory certainty and coordination with state and local governments while maintaining strong conservation outcomes. During this session, the National Endangered Species Act Reform Coalition (NESARC) will provide an update on current ESA implementation, legislative developments and coalition advocacy efforts.
