Sound Transit

Van Ness Feldman represents Sound Transit in a wide range of land use and environmental permitting related to the second phase of Sound Transit’s regional transit plan (ST2), including Link Light Rail and the Sounder Commuter Rail facilities. The firm’s  representation has included assisting Sound Transit in preparing complex land use applications for new rail lines and stations, including overlapping jurisdictional and multi-agency issues; advising Sound Transit regarding compliance with permit conditions and other operational restrictions; and defending Sound Transit against appeals related to shoreline and environmental (SEPA/NEPA) issues. In addition, the firm has assisted Sound Transit in monitoring and commenting on pending changes to federal programs and regulations that are important to the operation and expansion of its transit system.
