Van Ness Feldman Entertains Wounded U.S. Army, Marine Corps Veterans at U.S. Open Golf Championship

June 16, 2011

At the U.S. Open golf tournament being played this week in Bethesda, MD, firm Chairman Howard Feldman and member Michael McBride, with the assistance of firm Marketing Specialist Jean Brinker, hosted a group of wounded military veterans and their families.  Our honored guests were Sgt. Mark Holbert, Sgt. Anthony Verra, Spc. Tim Hall, and Cpl. Jeremy Stengel.  Van Ness Feldman is a hospitality patron of the U.S. Open, and the firm appreciates the support and services that the United States Golf Association staff rendered in making this memorable experience possible for the veterans.

Of the special guests, Feldman said, “I am proud and delighted to welcome these fine young men and their families who have given so much to our country.  Their personal stories are compelling.  Since we learned that they all enjoy the game of golf, it is a real pleasure to be able to spend some time with them at this major golf event in our area.  All who serve in our military deserve our gratitude and assistance.  I encourage clients, friends, and colleagues to join us in considering ways they can support and give back to the brave, selfless professionals and their families from our armed forces.”

Support of U.S. military personnel is a core aspect of the firm’s charitable endeavors, as well as pro bono commitments and personal volunteer service by firm professionals.  The firm also is a longtime contributor to the USO, and Seattle firm member Malcolm McLellan serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the USO Puget Sound region.
