Katherine T. Wimsatt

Legislative Assistant

Katie Wimsatt provides support to the firm’s government advocacy and public policy practice.  She is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing federal policy initiatives in Congress and the Executive Branch that affect the firm’s clients.

Katie also provides clients with a comprehensive view of major actions and issues emerging on Capitol Hill through the coverage of Congressional hearings and briefings in the energy, natural resources, and environment sectors.

Prior to joining Van Ness Feldman, Katie interned at various NGOs where she focused on climate change and energy transition issues.   While a student at the University of California, Berkeley,  Katie was a member of the University’s Policy Debate team and won the 2021 American Debate Association National Champion and received a first round at-large bid to the 2021 National Debate Tournament.
