Jim Ziglar Named to New Gulf of Mexico Advisory Group

June 7, 2013

Jim Ziglar, Senior Counsel with Van Ness Feldman, has been named to the National Academy of Sciences’ New Gulf of Mexico Program Advisory Board.   The Gulf of Mexico program is a $500 million, 30-year program that was established as part of the federal settlement after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.  The 24-member group, comprised of leaders in the fields of science, engineering, and health, will come together to develop and implement the program’s missions, goals, and objectives.

The program will focus on human health, environmental protection, and oil system safety in the Gulf of Mexico and the United States' Outer Continental Shelf, and will fund and carry out studies, projects, and activities in research and development, education and training, and environmental monitoring.
