Steve represents both public and private sector clients with matters related to environmental review, zoning and local land use regulation, wetland regulation, public records requests, and general permitting. Steve’s practice has involved providing counsel to large infrastructure project owners and operators and public utilities on regulatory compliance and strategic litigation analysis.
Prior to joining the firm, Steve served as a legal clerk at the Washington State Office of the Attorney General, Department of Ecology. While in law school, Steve was a recipient of the prestigious Dow Sustainability Fellowship, where along with an interdisciplinary graduate-level team, drafted a floodplain overlay district ordinance and collaborated with the City of Ann Arbor to produce a white paper describing potential floodplain zoning changes.
Steve was a Div-I athlete on Stanford University’s wrestling team and continues to mentor high school wrestlers as a volunteer assistant coach.
