John Frenkil assists clients with matters relating to clean tech, energy efficiency and natural gas. Since joining the firm, he has provided counsel on transactional, project development and government contracting matters, as well as FERC proceedings. He also advises clients on energy incentives at the local, state and federal levels, such as federal grants, renewable energy certificates (RECs) and feed-in tariffs.
Professional Background
Prior to joining the firm, John worked with the U.S. Department of Energy and SunEdison, a leading international solar developer on issues regarding power purchase agreements (PPAs), transmission development and federal energy financing.
He has advised current and prospective state legislators in Maryland and California on energy development issues, while also consulting a U.S. biofuels company and South American landowner on carbon mitigation strategies.
