Jeff Winmill's practice focuses on energy and environmental issues, particularly those arising under the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the Federal Power Act. Mr. Winmill also represents the firm’s corporate and municipal clients on a host of regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Professional Background
An Idaho native, Mr. Winmill joins Van Ness Feldman with a rich political background. In 2002, he was the research director for a United States Senate Campaign in Idaho. In 2004, during the Presidential primary, Mr. Winmill was a member of Senator John Kerry’s successful field operation during the Iowa Caucus and later worked during the general election as a Press Lead on the Kerry Edwards National Advance Team. In the 2008 presidential primary and general election, Mr. Winmill worked in a senior press advance role where he was responsible for all press planning at Obama/Biden campaign events featuring the candidates. Mr. Winmill has also served in the office of Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV).
