Emily Pitlick assists clients in a variety of federal regulatory and transactional matters to understand and comply with their obligations under energy and environmental laws.  Ms. Pitlick’s primary focus is counseling clients on compliance issues arising under the Federal Power Act and the Natural Gas Act before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).  Her work also supports clients working on emerging issues in energy and natural resources law.  Select representative matters include:

  • Assisting with the representation of several interstate natural gas pipelines in rate case proceedings and on compliance obligations before FERC.
  • Counseling on the regulation of carbon dioxide pipelines as a participant in the Carbon Capture and Sequestration Regulatory Project.
  • Working with energy investors and public utilities on the development of geothermal projects on public and private lands.
  • Successful representation of a Korean War veteran in a healthcare benefits proceeding before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims as part of the firm’s pro bono practice.
