Tyson Kade’s practice focuses on energy, environmental, and natural resources matters, with a special emphasis on Endangered Species Act, climate change, electronic and hazardous waste, fisheries, and FERC relicensing issues.

Prior to joining Van Ness Feldman, Mr. Kade served as a judicial intern for The Honorable James L. Robart in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. He researched and drafted orders and bench memoranda and prepared proposed rulings on motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. Mr. Kade was also a law clerk with the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the Department of Justice. In this position, he provided research and drafted memoranda in support of litigation arising under several environmental statutes.

Mr. Kade was also a student advocate for the University of Washington’s Berman Environmental Law Clinic. Here, he gained litigation experience and significant exposure to Endangered Species Act and Superfund issues. Also, Mr. Kade has worked on water allocation issues in the Columbia River Basin.

Prior to law school, Mr. Kade served as a fisheries management specialist with the National Marine Fisheries Service. In this position, he gained experience drafting environmental impact statements and fisheries regulations, as well as assisting with Endangered Species Act section 7 consultations.
