Julia Wood’s practice focuses primarily on hydroelectric and electric power matters involving the Federal Power Act, Energy Policy Act of 2005, Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA), and other federal statutes affecting energy and water development. Ms. Wood provides legal counsel to the firm’s hydroelectric clients on relicensing and license compliance issues, and is currently involved in several major hydroelectric relicensing proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Ms. Wood also assists electric industry clients on issues relating to the development and acquisition of power projects, market-based rate authorizations, and regulatory compliance.
In addition, Ms. Wood represents Alaskan entities, including municipalities, on a variety of federal issues, including energy, environmental, and transportation issues, before Congress and federal agencies.
