Bob Szabo counsels and advocates to the Congress and the Executive Branch agencies and departments on behalf of firm clients in the areas of federal energy, environmental, land and water, public policy, and transportation law.
Among recent or ongoing client issues are: representing the State of Louisiana in its effort to achieve federal funding for coastal restoration; assisting a cellulosic ethanol producer in its effort to develop a commercial-scale ethanol facility; representing a major international mining firm in its effort to position itself for potential Global Climate Change regulation; advocating the interests of a diverse group of “captive” rail customers; representing a British deregulated utility company with respect to its participation in the deregulated U.S. electricity and natural gas retail markets; representing a client with respect to its pending hydro relicensing; and representing a number of clients on federal wetlands permitting efforts.
