Jessica Friedman’s practice focuses on electric power matters. She represents independent power producers, power marketers, electric utility affiliates, and equity and debt investors with respect to transactional and regulatory matters involving the Federal Power Act, Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA), and the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
Ms. Friedman regularly assists clients with issues related to the development and acquisition of electric generation facilities, interconnection matters, market-based rates, and compliance audits, investigations, and other proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Her work entails transactional and regulatory work with both conventional and renewable energy sources. She also represents clients on issues related to the purchase and sale of electric power and related products and thermal energy.

As part of Ms. Friedman’s legal career, she has served as an Assistant County Attorney in Fairfax County, a suburb of Washington DC, where she acquired significant civil litigation experience while handling child abuse and neglect cases.
