Patrick Currier’s practice focuses on energy and energy policy matters, striking a balance between the regulatory and technical aspects of energy law with the policy developments shaping the future of the energy industry. His regulatory practice places a special emphasis on electricity matters, including renewable generation, transmission and interconnection transactions, project finance, and rulemakings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. His energy policy practice focuses on renewable fuels, renewable electricity production, and the federal tax policies affecting these growing industries. Mr. Currier also supports the needs of clients with regards to infrastructure security issues.
Professional Background
Prior to joining Van Ness Feldman, Mr. Currier held several law clerk positions in the Criminal Divisions of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and U.S. Department of Justice. As a Paralegal Specialist in the National Criminal Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, Mr. Currier assisted attorneys with criminal investigations into domestic and international companies and persons who violated U.S. antitrust laws. Mr. Currier served as a Senate Intern for Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-MD) and as a Judicial Intern for The Honorable José M. López in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
