Jaeleen Kookesh Araujo’s practice focuses on matters involving Alaska Native and Alaskan entities, including municipalities and Native corporations, with a concentration on land, natural resources and energy issues.
As a point-of-contact between parties in Alaska and Washington, DC, Ms. Araujo works closely with Congressional Members and Staff, as well as the Department of Agriculture, the Department of the Interior and the Department of Defense, on a variety of matters that have included coordinating land exchanges, seeking federal appropriations, monitoring regulatory processes, and drafting legislation and amendments to existing laws, particularly related to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA).
