Claire Brennan supports the firm’s lawyers and clients with natural gas and electric regulatory and transactional matters, proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and related appellate matters. Claire provides case management for administrative litigation, including the Pacific Northwest refund proceeding. She also assists with the preparation of certificate applications and pleadings before FERC and the preparation and filing of briefs and other pleadings in the U.S. Courts of Appeals.

Since its inception, Claire also has been the Project Manager of The AGA FERC Manual: A Guide for Local Distribution Companies.

Prior to joining Van Ness Feldman in 2012, Claire was a paralegal manager with another prominent energy law firm where she also focused on electric and gas regulatory matters. Prior to her experience with energy regulatory matters, Claire was an associate broker specializing in residential property management.

    • Administrative Hearing Preparation: Case manager for the Pacific Northwest proceeding. Responsible for all facets of trial preparation, management of discovery documents, witness kits, and preparation of briefs and legal memoranda.
    • Appellate Proceedings: Responsible for preparation of petitions for review, briefs, joint appendices, and oral argument materials for numerous cases appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, Fifth Circuit, Ninth Circuit, and U.S. Supreme Court.
