National Hydropower Association's Alaska Regional Meeting

September 19, 2016 - September 20, 2016

National Hydropower Association

Cordova, AK

Chuck Sensiba will be a featured speaker at this year's NHA Alaska Regional Meeting in Cordova, AK.   His talk will focus on the challenges and opportunities associated with new hydropower development in Alaska.

From the conference agenda:

With its isolated electric grids serving rural communities, abundance of water resources, and mountainous terrain, Alaska is ideally suited to use hydropower as a base load resource to replace diesel and other expensive generation. Despite the opportunity and need, challenges to develop new hydropower in Alaska are significant. Environmental effects, economic downturns, project financing, regulatory requirements, access/permitting issues, and many other factors, require careful consideration and planning for a successful project. Chuck will explore these issues based on recent and potential experiences in Alaska.
