Representative Matters

Transource Missouri, LLC

Van Ness Feldman provides regulatory counsel to Transource Missouri, a new transmission development joint venture of American Electric Power Company, Inc. and Great Plains Energy Incorporated. In the past year, the firm prepared and prosecuted a successful application for FERC incentive rate treatments for development of two 345 kV transmission lines located in Missouri – the Iatan-Nashua Project and the Sibley-Nebraska City Project. The investment in the projects is expected to be approximately $440 million. FERC approved a range of requested incentive rate treatments in October 2012. The firm also prepared and prosecuted a transmission formula rate case for Transource Missouri covering these projects and any other projects to be developed in the Southwest Power Pool.  A settlement of the formula rate case was accepted by the FERC in May 2013.
